Last updated May 15, 2026. Storm Evidence is designed to collect as little customer information as practical while providing API access.
1. Minimal account information
Storm Evidence only needs a small amount of information to operate an account, such as an email address, login credentials or authentication state, API keys, and plan status. If you contact us, we may keep the message so we can respond.
You do not need to upload claim files, policy documents, photos, or customer records to use the standard API.
2. Payments
Payments are handled by our payment processor. Storm Evidence does not store full card numbers. We may receive limited payment status information needed to show plan state, manage trials, and confirm whether an account is active.
3. Weather API requests
API requests may include coordinates, addresses, dates, time windows, radius values, perils, and response options. We use those inputs to return weather intelligence for the requested location and time period.
We may keep limited technical logs, such as request time, endpoint, status code, and diagnostic identifiers, to monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues. We aim to avoid retaining more request detail than we need to operate the service.
4. Sessions
The app may use cookies or browser storage to keep you signed in and maintain basic account preferences. We may also use simple website and infrastructure telemetry to understand whether the site and API are working properly.
When we run advertising, we may use advertising and conversion measurement tags to understand whether a visitor created an account, started a plan, generated a report, viewed documentation, or contacted sales. These tags may store or pass click identifiers and campaign parameters, such as gclid and UTM values, so we can measure campaign performance without using API lookup contents for advertising profiles.
5. How we use information
We use limited account and technical information to provide the service, authenticate users, manage API keys, process plan status, respond to support requests, keep the API reliable, and protect the service from misuse.
6. Service providers
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be processed by the infrastructure services we use to run Storm Evidence, such as hosting, payment processing, email delivery, system monitoring, and advertising measurement. These services act on our behalf to keep the product running and help us understand whether marketing campaigns are working.
We may disclose information if required by law or if necessary to protect Storm Evidence, our customers, or the security of the service.
7. Retention
We keep account and operational records only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal or billing obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, or support reliable API operations.
8. Your choices
You may request account assistance, billing help, or account deletion review by contacting us. Some records may need to be retained where required for legal, billing, security, or operational reasons.
